Privacy policy

Updated October 4, 2026. Guest2Host (guest2host.com) is a catalog of vacation rentals listed by their owners. We don’t take bookings or payments, show ads, or sell your data.

Travelers

• Browsing. Our servers log each request (IP address, browser type, page, referring site). We use these logs only to count visits, and delete them after 30 days.
• Site analytics. We use PostHog to see how people use the site (pages viewed, clicks, device type). It sets a cookie to recognize a returning browser. We don’t use ad networks or sell this data.
• Questions to owners. When you ask an owner something, on a site we host or through an AI assistant, we send your name, email, optional phone, dates, guest count and message to that listing’s owners, and keep a copy to deliver it and stop abuse.
• Booking links. When you follow a “Book direct” link we count the click for that listing, with no personal details. The owner’s site then has its own privacy policy, which applies to your booking.

Owners

• Your account email, your listings, ratings and prices, and the calendar links you connect (kept private and never shown publicly or to AI assistants).
• Photos you upload. We remove location and camera data from every photo before it’s shown.
• Applications to list: your name, email and property details, to review and set up your account.

AI assistants

Assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and Meta Muse can search Guest2Host for their users. For each call we keep a count of which assistant, which tool, and how many results — not the conversation. When a search finds nothing, we keep the place searched for (for example “Asheville”) so we know where to find hosts. Questions sent to owners and applications through an assistant are handled as above.

Who else sees it

Owners receive the questions sent to their listings. We run on Amazon Web Services, including Amazon SES for email, and use PostHog for site analytics. No data brokers, no advertisers.

How long we keep it

Server logs: 30 days. Questions and applications: as long as needed to deliver them and for two years after, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Owner accounts: while the account exists. Counts with no personal data may be kept longer.

Your choices

Ask us what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, through the contact form. We reply within 30 days. Guest2Host isn’t meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are noted on this page.
